ATOMIC AND NUCLEAR PHYSICS

ATOMIC AND NUCLEAR PHYSICS LABORATORY

The Atomic and Nuclear Physics Laboratory is located in room D.13.R.205 on the 2nd floor of the West Wing. Atomic physics experiments are scheduled in odd semesters and nuclear physics experiments are scheduled in even semesters. In addition, the Atomic-Core Physics lab also serves as the lab for the Core Chemistry experiments in even semesters.

The description of the lab material is as follows:

ATOMIC PHYSICS

    Cathode Ray Deviation Experiment
    Hall Effect Experiment
    Franck-Hertz Experiment
    Atomic Spectroscopy Experiment

NUCLEAR PHYSICS

Experiment on the Effect of Varying the Thickness of the Material/Absorber on the Attenuation of Gamma Radiation
Experiment on the effect of the distance between the radiation source and the thin window counter on the count value.
Experiment on the statistical error of a single measurement.
    Experiment on background radiation.
Experiment on the measurement of the count value for thorium with varying count.
    Potassium sulfate experiment.

The nuclear physics laboratory also supports the radiation detection methods course.
