Nurul Fatihah, a Physics student at Yogyakarta State University, was selected as one of the Indonesian delegates at the U Go Global Conference 2025 which took place in Da Nang, Vietnam, in early April. Her departure was facilitated by the U Go Scholarship, a scholarship program initiated by University Go in collaboration with the Inotek Foundation to empower women in countries with limited access to education. Through a national paper competition selection, the two best awardees were selected to receive full funding.

The conference presented delegates from more than 15 countries including the Philippines, Cambodia, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Turkey, Singapore, Vietnam, and several other countries. Nurul presented an innovation in the photocatalytic water splitting system with Cu₂O/FTO anodes. This innovation offers a sustainable solution that integrates liquid waste management, hydrogen production, and the conversion of processed hydrogen into electricity.

During the preparation process, compiling the paper, making the prototype, Nurul received guidance from Mrs. Riza Ariyani Nur Khasanah, S.Pd., M.Sc., Ph.D., who not only provided guidance, but also fully supported her students' efforts to excel and contribute to research that is beneficial for the development of science.

U Go and Inotek Foundation not only support conference participation, but also research funding so that ideas can be realized. This effort not only strengthens the national strategy in liquid waste management and hydrogen-based energy production, but also serves as real evidence of the contribution of Indonesian female scientists in driving the transition to green energy at the global level.
