Uniqueness and Excellence of Physics Study Program
Uniqueness and Excellence of Physics Study Program at Yogyakarta State University (UNY)
UNT Physics Study Program has several unique features:
The Physics study program at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) offers a unique approach that integrates various fields of science to support sustainability and the use of local wisdom. Material Physics is one of the main focuses, with research developing nanoparticles using natural materials for technological applications, as well as semiconductor composites that support the development of green energy and reduce pollution. In the field of Biomaterials, research is focused on the development of materials for environmentally friendly biomedical applications. Geophysical Physics studies disasters in Yogyakarta to improve disaster mitigation, while Theoretical Physics collaborates with the BATAN Research Center in the development of nuclear technology that supports clean energy. In addition, Electronics and Instrumentation at UNY develop tools for the agricultural sector to improve efficiency and agricultural yields based on technology. All of these fields are oriented towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), creating environmentally friendly solutions that benefit society and the environment.
The UNY Physics Study Program has several advantages:
1. Superior and Competitive Vision: The UNY Physics Study Program has a vision to become a study program with competitive advantages in the field of physics and its applications, and is able to produce quality graduates who are pious, independent, and intellectual.
2. Diverse Concentrations/Interests: This program offers various areas of interest, including: Materials (Functional Materials, Nanomaterials, Biomaterials, Biosensors), Theory (Atomic, Nuclear, and Applied Physics), Earth Physics (Geophysics), and Electronics and Instrumentation (Systems and Signals).
3. Combination of Theory and Practice: Students not only study physics theory, but are also faced with real cases that require solutions through experiments and research. This approach ensures that graduates have strong analytical and practical skills.
4. Advanced Laboratory Facilities: There are several laboratories, including the Basic Physics Laboratory, Electronics Laboratory, Materials Laboratory, Nanomaterials Laboratory, Biomaterials Laboratory, Colloids Laboratory, Atomic and Nuclear Physics Laboratory, Computational Physics Laboratory and Earth Physics Laboratory. UNY has equipped its laboratories with the latest equipment, such as Raman Spectrometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, and Particle Size Analyzer, which are used for research and advanced training in the field of Materials and Nanotechnology.
5. National and International Scholarship Support: The UNY Physics Study Program provides information on full scholarship opportunities both from within and outside the country which cover tuition fees and living expenses.
With these unique features, the UNY Physics Study Program is committed to producing competent graduates who are ready to compete at the national and international levels.
