 Workshop of Solar Cell-Based Teaching Aids To Raise Green Energy Awareness for High School Physics Teachers in Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta, August 9, 2025

The Department of Physics Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Yogyakarta State University (UNY) held a Workshop on Making Solar Cell-Based Teaching Aids to raise awareness of green energy among high school physics teachers in Yogyakarta.

This activity was part of the Community Service (PkM) program involving a team of UNY Physics Education lecturers:

The workshop was held on Saturday, August 9, 2025, and featured high school physics teachers. In this training, participants were guided to create simple solar cell-based demonstration tools that can be used as contextual learning media in the classroom.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Through this activity, teachers are expected to:

1. Understand the basic principles of solar cells and their application in everyday life.

2. Improve practical skills in designing and utilizing renewable energy-based teaching aids.

3. Integrate green energy concepts into physics lessons to foster environmental awareness among students.

 

This activity aligns with UNY's efforts to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7) and Quality Education (SDG 4).

Through this workshop, physics teachers in Yogyakarta are expected to not only gain new knowledge but also become agents of change in fostering green energy awareness in their respective schools.
