Training for the Padukuhan Sanggrahan Youth Organization as Companions for Elderly Farmers in the Application of Audio Bio Harmonic System (ABHS) Technology to Increase Food Crop Productivity

The food security crisis is a problem that must be overcome currently due to population growth in Indonesia which continues to increase. One way to overcome the food security crisis is to increase productivity in the agricultural sector. In this case, farmers in rural areas are the main producers of staple foods, such as rice, corn, beans, vegetables, and others. Various programs have been used to increase the productivity of farmers in rural areas, for example by selecting superior seeds, good soil cultivation, proper fertilization, controlling plant pests and diseases, good watering or irrigation, and the use of agricultural technology.

Increasing agricultural production can also be done by improving the way plant nutrients are delivered through stomata. Animals that make loud calls can help plants open their stomata, which then increases the speed and effectiveness of fertilizer absorption by the leaves. Lecturer at the Department of Physics Education, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Yogyakarta State University (UNY), Nur Kadarisman et al. (2012), have conducted research and created Audio Bio Harmonic (ABH) which uses high frequency garengpung sounds, which are used to increase agricultural productivity. The research results show that the productivity of food crops such as potatoes, beans and soybeans increases with the implementation of ABH.

In order to help farmers in Yogyakarta (Padukuhan Sanggrahan) to increase the productivity of agricultural products, the PKM DKL team of the Department of Physics Education, FMIPA, UNY, provided training on the application of ABH to Karang Taruna Padukuhan Sanggrahan as a companion to elderly farmers. The training was held on Sunday, 27 August 2023, at 19.00 WIB and took place at Padukuhan Sanggrahan, Kampung Bening, Purwomartani, Kalasan, Sleman. This training consisted of several lecturers, including Drs. Nur Kadarisman, M.Sc., Prof. Dr. Heru Kuswanto, M.Si, Sumarna, M.Si., M.Eng., Agus Purwanto, S.Si., M.Si, Dr. Supardi, S.Si., M.Si. and several students, including Doni Hendry, Thoriq Ammarul Hammam, Endiko Krisanlo, Nur Ahadianti, Nur Aulia K. The operation of this ABH tool is quite simple. Animal sounds can be heard within a radius of 100 square meters just by clicking the ABH tool button. This tool can be installed in the morning, for example between 06.00 and 07.00 WIB, starting from the time the leaves start to grow until harvest. With this ABH implementation training, agricultural productivity in Padukuhan Sanggrahan, Kampung Bening, Purwomartani, Kalasan, Sleman can be increased.
