    Yogyakarta – Students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), have once again demonstrated their commitment to sustainable innovation in science and technology.     UNY Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences students, members of the Student Creativity Program – Exact Research (PKM-RE) Team, have developed an environmentally friendly sensor to detect the heavy metal lead (Pb²⁺) in water. This sensor is based on Cu₂O/TiO₂ Nanotube Arrays (Cu₂O/TNA), synthesized through electrodeposition using a green synthesis approach.

    On June 29, 2025, dozens of Dasawisma women from Kranggede Village gathered at Mr. Supardi’s house to learn practical ways to manage household waste. They were taught how to turn organic waste, such as vegetable scraps, fruit peels, and coffee grounds, into liquid organic fertilizer (POC) using simple tools and materials.
