Physics Study Program at UNY Officially Receives ASIIN International Accreditation

The Bachelor of Science in Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, has officially been granted international accreditation by ASIIN for the period 23 September 2024 to 30 September 2030. This achievement marks global recognition of the quality of the curriculum, learning process, and graduate competencies of the Physics Study Program at UNY.

According to the accreditation certificate issued on 14 October 2025, ASIIN has confirmed that the Physics Study Program meets international standards in higher education, including the academic and professional qualification requirements in the field of Physics. The program is aligned with Level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning (EQF LLL), placing its graduates at an internationally recognized competence level.

The accreditation was granted by the ASIIN Accreditation Commission, represented by Prof. Dr. Gert Ingold (Chairperson of the Accreditation Commission), Dr.-Ing. Mathis Wollny, and Dr. Iring Wasser (Managing Director). They stated that the Physics Study Program at UNY has demonstrated strong curriculum quality, governance, and learning outcomes consistent with European standards.

This accomplishment reflects UNY’s commitment to maintaining academic excellence, strengthening global competitiveness, and expanding international collaboration opportunities in the field of physics. With the achievement of ASIIN accreditation, the Physics Study Program at UNY reinforces its position as a leading and globally competitive study program at both national and international levels.
