Yogyakarta, August 7, 2026 — The Community Service Team of the Functional Materials Research Group at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta conducted a Workshop on the Production of Ferrite-Based Water Filters from Glagah Beach Sand, Kulon Progo, as an Effort to Utilize Local Materials for Students of SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta. The activity was held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Western Indonesia Time at SMA Negeri 5 Yogyakarta.

Alhamdulillah, on July 16–17, 2026, Dr. Mona Sari, S.Pd., M.Sc., a lecturer in the Undergraduate Physics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), as well as the Head of the UNY Biomaterials Research Group (RG) 2026, had the opportunity to fulfill her role as Partner 1 representing Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) in the 2026 Indonesia Collaborative Research Grant (RKI), with Universitas Sriwijaya as the host institution and Universitas Nurul Huda as the collaborating partner.

The Undergraduate Physics Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), has once again achieved an international accomplishment. One of its distinguished lecturers, Prof. Dr. Heru Kuswanto, has been recognized among the World’s Top 5% Scientists in the SciRank Global Registry 2025.

The Bachelor of Science in Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta, has officially been granted international accreditation by ASIIN for the period 23 September 2024 to 30 September 2030. This achievement marks global recognition of the quality of the curriculum, learning process, and graduate competencies of the Physics Study Program at UNY.
