One of the obligations of lecturers in the Tridharma of Higher Education is to carry out PPM in order to disseminate science and technology to the wider community. As has been implemented by several Physics Study Program lecturers including, Dr. Supardi, Prof. Heru Kuswanto, Nur Kadariswa, M.Si, Agus Purwanto, M.Sc, Sumarna, M.Eng, Pinaka Elka Swastika, M.Sc and assisted by several students held Arduino microcontroller training for vocational school teachers in Yogyakarta on 14 September 2021 via zoom meetings. This activity aims to provide insight to vocational school teachers about the potential of Arduino in making applied physics projects and train teachers to make applied physics projects based on the Arduino UNO/Nano microcontroller so that teachers can use it to improve their competence.

This activity was carried out online considering the Covid 19 pandemic conditions which were still relatively busy in Yogyakarta. This activity was attended by 17 Applied Physics teachers spread across the Yogyakarta Special Region, including teachers who have an educational background in electronics physics and teachers who do not have a background in electronics knowledge. To overcome the problem of visual limitations considering that the device used is relatively small, the Tinkercad simulator is used, a simulator that is adequate for learning to assemble and code Arduino-based circuits. The results of this service show that the majority of applied physics teachers in the DIY region hope for the continuation of this activity, considering that electronics skills are one of the competencies that MGMP Applied Physics teachers must master. The Tinkerpad simulator can replace Arduino-based electronics practicum to create simple physics projects, so that even in a pandemic atmosphere the practicum process can still be carried out.
