FMIPA UNY Bone_Scaffold Team Wins 3 Categories in the 37th Pimnas Event at UNAIR

The Bone_Scaffold Team from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) successfully won three award categories in the 37th National Student Scientific Week (Pimnas) held at Airlangga University (UNAIR), Surabaya, on October 14-18, 2024. The team led by Ivathuszalma (Physics) achieved brilliant achievements through their innovative work in the field of hydroxyapatite-based bone scaffold engineering. The Bone_Scaffold team members consist of Ivathuszalma (Physics), Kiky Errysza Asyifa Maida Putri (Physics), Nihadlul Muna (Physics), Firdaus Amruzain Satiranandi Wibowo (Statistics), and Oktiana Prabawati (Biology), with guidance from Dr. Supardi, M.Si (Lecturer in Physics, FMIPA UNY). In this largest student scientific competition in Indonesia, the Bone_Scaffold Team successfully won three prestigious awards as (1) Talented Student, won by Ivathuszalma as the team leader who demonstrated extraordinary academic and presentation abilities during the competition, (2) Gold Medal in the Presentation Category, the highest award obtained by the team in conveying their ideas and research results in front of the jury and other participants, and (3) Bronze Medal in the Best Poster Category, this award shows good visualization abilities of their research results through attractive and informative poster media.

With this success, the Bone_Scaffold Team also brought Yogyakarta State University to rank 9th in medals at the 37th Pimnas. This achievement is real proof of UNY's commitment as a university to support the development of student innovation and its role in the development of science and technology at the national level. The success of the Bone_Scaffold Team, FMIPA UNY is expected to inspire other students to continue to be creative and innovative and make UNY even more successful in various scientific events.

What a proud academic achievement! Hopefully, UNY will become a legal entity university (PTNBH) that always supports and provides educational and research facilities so that the quality of student learning outcomes improves.
