On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, 11 students and 2 lecturers from the Physics Study Program of Yogyakarta State University (UNY) visited the Kartini Reactor located under the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), formerly known as the National Nuclear Energy Agency (BATAN). This visit aims to deepen understanding of nuclear technology in Indonesia, especially in the field of nuclear research related to energy and health. This activity was led by Dr. Eng. Rida Siti Nur’aini Mahmudah, M.Sc. and Riza Ariyani Nur Khasanah, S.Pd., M.Sc., Ph.D., lecturers from the UNY Physics Study Program. BRIN was represented by Mr. Argo Satrio Wicaksono, a researcher who provided an explanation of the facilities and operation of the nuclear reactor. The participants had the opportunity to visit the reactor facilities and discuss the role of nuclear technology in supporting national energy security, as well as the use of isotopes in the medical field. This visit is expected to broaden participants' insights regarding the contribution of nuclear technology to the advancement of science and technology in Indonesia.
