From Waste to Blessing: Dozens of Women in Kranggede Learn to Make Liquid Organic Fertilizer

On June 29, 2025, dozens of Dasawisma women from Kranggede Village gathered at Mr. Supardi’s house to learn practical ways to manage household waste. They were taught how to turn organic waste, such as vegetable scraps, fruit peels, and coffee grounds, into liquid organic fertilizer (POC) using simple tools and materials. This activity marked their first step toward sustainably caring for their surrounding environment.
The event began at 1:00 PM with a session on the benefits of organic waste for plants, followed by a two-hour hands-on practice of making POC. The women learned how to sort waste, prepare natural activator liquids, and carry out fermentation so that kitchen scraps could be transformed into high-quality fertilizer. The methods taught were easy to apply and could be immediately tried at home.
The activity ran smoothly, with high enthusiasm and many questions answered. Now, the women are committed to becoming agents of environmental change by reducing waste and turning it into a blessing for their yards. Their spirit and commitment are expected to inspire local residents to participate in keeping the environment clean.
