From Waste to Blessing: Dozens of Women in Kranggede Learn to Make Liquid Organic Fertilizer

On June 29, 2025, dozens of Dasawisma women from Kranggede Village gathered at Mr. Supardi’s house to learn practical ways to manage household waste. They were taught how to turn organic waste, such as vegetable scraps, fruit peels, and coffee grounds, into liquid organic fertilizer (POC) using simple tools and materials. This activity marked their first step toward sustainably caring for their surrounding environment.

Training on the Fabrication of Cellulose Extraction Processes from Tea Waste and the Fabrication of Nanocrystalline Cellulose-Based Bioplastics for Adiwiyata School Teachers in Yogyakarta City as an Effort to Combat Plastic Waste

In addressing the priority issues identified in the dissemination and training on the production of bioplastic materials based on nanocrystalline cellulose from tea waste as an effort to combat plastic waste in the environment of SMAN 5 Yogyakarta, a comprehensive solution framework was proposed. The framework is systematically designed to address the high percentage of plastic waste in Indonesia, which causes environmental pollution given that plastic waste is non-biodegradable.

One-day Institutional Visit of Hima Physics FMIPA UNY to the Sleman Geophysics Station

Hima Fisika FMIPA UNY again held a One-Day Institutional Visit (KISS) activity on Wednesday, August 21, 2024. The KISS 2024 activity took place at the Sleman Geophysical Station and was attended by a number of students accompanied by Mrs. Dr. Febrina Siska Widyaningtyas, M.Pd as the supervising lecturer. Five students from the Physics Undergraduate Study Program at the Kalimantan Institute of Technology (ITK) have completed the Student Exchange Program (PMM) in the Physics Undergraduate Study Program, Department of Physics Education, FMIPA, UNY. This program lasts for 1 semester, starting in August 2023 and ending in December 2023.

The five students include Muhammad Rizal Fajar (NIM 01211002), Rahmatia Khumaera (NIM 01211003), Nabbila Salsa Ramadhani (NIM 01221010), Tiara Riski Atmayanti (NIM 01221001), and Grahtia Derlius Patampang (NIM 01221002).
